What is the reason for the decrease in rice dryer yield

2025-07-21

After our technicians arrived at the site, they first instructed the user to follow the normal process. After running the machine for 40 minutes, they checked the moisture content of the dried rice. The technicians found that the high moisture content of the rice used for drying was due to recent days of rainy weather in the local area. Water droplets could be clearly seen from the bags containing the rice, and it was estimated that the moisture content would reach about 45%. It is definitely not feasible to continue with the previous drying process.

The solution is to increase the temperature of the dryer. According to the previous process, the rice with a moisture content of 26% was dried to about 14%, and the feed inlet temperature was set at over 200 degrees. Now that the moisture content has increased, in order to ensure yield, the feed temperature also needs to be increased. When the temperature is set at over 300 degrees, the drying yield is significantly improved. However, it should be noted that the temperature is adjusted based on the moisture content of rice and cannot be adjusted arbitrarily.

Another reason that can lead to a decrease in rice drying yield is the humidity of the hot air inside the dryer, which affects its moisture absorption capacity. When the hot air reaches saturation, it no longer absorbs moisture and loses its drying function.

Therefore, the humidity of hot air can also affect the drying yield. There was once a customer who, for the sake of production convenience, covered the inlet of the induced draft fan at the end of the equipment with burlap bags. This reduced the air volume of the fan, resulting in slow water vapor emissions in the dryer and increased humidity in the hot air. The rice had to be dried for a long time. Therefore, after receiving the equipment, do not make any changes yourself. First consult the manufacturer and make changes within the allowable range to avoid affecting the equipment's output.
